The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in the Super Bowl, and that was it. However, there have been some people complaining about the turf, with former Eagles Safety CJ Gardner Johnson being one of those notable voices.
The consensus is that the Chiefs only won the Super Bowl because the Eagles’ defensive line was constantly slipping. There have been calls for the NFL to admit that it messed up the turf. League commissioner Roger Goodell told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that the players were wearing the wrong cleats, which upset Gardner-Johnson.
Gardner Johnson, 25, now with the Detroit Lions, took to Twitter and stated that if the game had been played on the right turf, Philadelphia would have won the Super Bowl.

Since the Super Bowl, and in particular, over the past few weeks, questions have been raised about the field at State Farm Stadium. A section of the fans believed that the poor conditions could have had a significant impact on the outcome.
Of course, both teams had to play on the same surface, and perhaps the two chiefs adapted better. However, Philadelphia fans seem adamant that this was the main reason for losing the Super Bowl.
Philadelphia will play Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in Week 10 at Arrowhead Stadium. We won’t have to wait long to find out if Gardner Johnson really knows what happened.

Some fans wondered if the stadium issue would have been raised had Philadelphia won the Super Bowl.
Regardless, the game was great, with the Chiefs narrowly winning the NFL’s most coveted trophy.
Gardner Johnson will not appear in the Week 10 rematch, as he is now a member of the Detroit Lions after a taste of free agency. But we can almost guarantee he’ll be watching the game with intent to see how Philadelphia’s defensive line fares against the Chiefs on a better field.
