The life trustee of the MET Public Charitable Trust in Bandra where the Ajit Pawar group is scheduled to hold its meeting on Wednesday has written to the Charities Commissioner asking him to stop the political event at an educational institution.

“I have complained to the Charity Commissioner that the educational institution is being abused. More than 300-400 students are studying there. No one can be allowed to hold political events in the institute,” said Sunil Karve, life trustee of MET.

Recently sworn in minister Chajan Bujbal is also a life trustee of MET.

Carvey said Boujbal and his family have been abusing the institute for many years. Administrators and contractors for people with disabilities used to meet him there when Boujbal was Minister for People with Disabilities, which is how I ended that. Even at the time of the Telgi scam many people used to gather there.

It’s an educational institution, Carvey said. “The regulator for Public Charity Trust is the Charity Commissioner, hence I wrote to him. If things like this are not stopped now, they will continue unabashedly,” he said.
