Match 27 of the 2023 Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) saw Seshim Madurai Panthers take on Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans at the Indian Cement Corporation ground in Tirunelveli.
The Panthers were required to bat first and finished their innings on 160/5, with Suresh Lokeshwar taking 44 at the top of the order. Tamizhans’ Trilok Nag scored figures of 2/36 in his four boundaries.
Chasing 161, Tushar Raheja scored 51 but they continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. In the end, they finished their innings on 156/6 to lose the match by four runs. Gurjapneet Singh and Ajay Krishna each picked scalps for the Panthers to help them qualify for the playoffs.

Lyca Kovai Kings’ Sai Sudharsan leads the list for most runs in TNPL 2023. Southpaw has scored 371 runs in six innings in the competition so far at an average of a whopping 74.20. He scored 172.55 but will not participate in any further competition as he will be playing in the Duleep Trophy.
Chipauk Super Gillis player Baba Abrajith is in fine form with the bat in the seventh edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League. A right-handed batsman, he made 283 runs in seven matches at an average of 47.17. He sits below Sai Sudharsan in TNPL 2023 most played list.
Shivam Singh of Dindigul Dragons follows Aparajith in the list of most runs in TNPL 2023. He has 270 runs to his name in seven innings and averages 45. He’s already hit three fifties in competition and will be looking to move up the ladder come playoffs.
TNPL 2023 Most Wickets List
Gurjapneet Singh of Siechem Madurai Panthers jumped to number one in the list of most wickets taken in TNPL 2023. The left-handed wrestler took two wickets against the Tamizhans and took his tally to 13 in the competition. He averages 13 with the ball and has an economy rate of 6.58.
SRK of Lyca Kovai Kings slipped to second place after match 27 of TNPL 2023 ended. The off-spinner has taken 13 wickets in seven matches at an average of 10.46 and follows Gurjapneet in the list of most wickets in TNPL 2023.
Bhuvaneswaran P of Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans went wicketless against the Panthers but bowled economically, hitting figures of 0/15 in his three overs. He has already taken 13 wickets in TNPL 2023 and sits just below Shah Rukh in the list of most wickets for TNPL 2023.
