The 27th match of the 2023 Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) saw Sikhim Madurai Panthers defeat Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans in an exciting match. The event was hosted by the Indian Cement Corporation of Tirunelveli.

With this win, Tamizan qualified for the playoffs and became the final team to qualify for the playoffs of the 2023 TNPL. They clinched their fourth win in the competition and moved into fourth place in the points table, with eight points and goals. A run rate of -0.324 to their name.

Lyca Kovai Kings, Dindigul Dragons and Nellai Royal Kings are placed first, second and third in the points table and have already qualified for the playoffs of the 2023 TNPL to the knockout stages of the competition.

As a result, the Chepauk Super Gillies were eliminated from the tournament. They managed to win only three matches out of seven and finished in fifth place. Their net run rate was a good 0.683 but they missed qualification by a good margin.

Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans have their fifth loss in the competition and as a result they are sixth in the points table. They finish with a net run average of -0486. The Salem Spartans sit below the Tamizan in the points table, with four points off their names, and could edge the Tamizan if they win their final game in the league.

Ba11sy Trichy has played six matches so far and has yet to win a single match. They have a net run rate of -1.9 and will be hoping to finish TNPL 2023 on a high when they take on the Nellai Royal Kings on Wednesday 5th July.

The Sekhem Madurai Panthers were asked to bat first by Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans in the 27th match of TNPL 2023. On the back of contributions from Suresh Lokeshwar (44), captain C Hari Nishaanth (34) and V Aaditya (37), the Panthers put 160 on the board. Tamizhans picked up five wickets in all, with Trilok Nag finishing with two.

In reply, Tushar Raheja scored 51 while opening the batting. The other batsmen failed to contribute but P Bhuvaneswaran bowled a fine cameo of 18* off seven balls to take the match to an end. Gurjapneet Singh masterfully played the overkill and held his nerve to help the Panthers successfully defend the total.

The Panthers won the game by four runs, thus qualifying the Panthers for the playoffs. They achieved their fourth win in the competition and managed to reach the top four. On the other hand, the Tamizhans failed to finish the tournament at the highest level.
