Police said Kavitha and another man named Inthab Khan, 60, were seriously injured while Anuradha and Mamtha died on the spot.
The car stopped after crashing into a tree, and Qadri allegedly abandoned the car and fled the scene. The police examined CCTV footage and found pictures of the incident. After identifying the owner of the car, the police said they traced the accused to his friend’s location near Musab Reservoir. Police said they abandoned the car after the accident and fled in another car, which was being followed by some friends.
The FIR is registered under sections 304(2) (causing death of any person by any reckless or negligent act not amounting to willful homicide) and 337 (causing harm to any person by performing any reckless or negligent act endangering a person life, or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 184 and 187 of the Motor Vehicles Act and further investigation is under way.
A dagger was recovered from the abandoned car and the police are checking details. The injured are being treated in a private hospital.
