Days after the CBI filed charges against AKP leader Lalu Prasad and his family members, the former chief minister of Bihar on Wednesday told Prime Minister Narendra Modi to think about what would happen to him once he lost power and declared that the opposition would “uproot” his government.

Speaking at the 26th foundation day ceremonies of the Rashtriya Janata Dal Foundation, Lalu took on the BJP to “introduce cases against anyone at will”, without directly referring to the indictment issued by the CBI in the land for jobs case.

“The case of Jespar Chahta Hai, Karwa Detta Hai, Mukadma Karwa Dita Hai. There is a lot of injustice and there is a lot of injustice, there is a lot of injustice to do. The Karo case, Mukadma Karo… Jahi Tu Na Rahi to Te Tohar Ka Hui.. (They file cases against anyone at will. Excessive oppression and torture is not good, and these complainants do not rule for a long time. Are they not in power?)”

The RJD chief told the party staff to prepare for the elections. “Leaders of 17 parties have gathered at the residence of Nitish Kumar (leaders of 15 parties have met). We will meet soon in Bengaluru. “Ukhaad ke phenk denge (we will uproot your government) Narendra Modi,” Laloo said to cheers of party workers.

The AKP chairman also mentioned how his party was formed in 1997 under difficult circumstances when it was facing issues. “But we have overcome challenges and RJD has risen from strength to strength… There is a need for us to stand united when there are attempts to disturb communal harmony and fragment society. There was also an attempt to tamper with the constitution made by BR Ambedkar,” said Lalu.

State President RJD Jagdanand Singh and Vice President of the National Party Shivanand Tiwari were among the other prominent leaders who attended the party’s founding day celebration.
