After a mishap, the New York Yankees game against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday was suspended.
Photographer Pete Stendell was swept off the field in the fifth inning after being hit in the head by an errant throw.
As he was led off the field, he gave the crowd a peace sign. Yankees fans shouted “MVP” as Stendel was carried off the field.

Fans later showed their appreciation to Stendel online:
“MVPete,” one wrote, while the other commented: “Once he recovers, he throws the first pitch and gets a curtain call.”
According to Christian Arnold of New York PostStendel was injured when the Orioles’ Gunnar Henderson attempted a double play but his throw to first base went over Ryan O’Hearn’s head.
Play was stopped for more than 10 minutes while Stindl was treated by stadium staff. During his check up, Michael Kay stated on the show that he was talking and being aware of it.
