According to L’Equipe newspaper, Inter Milan is looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as a replacement for Manchester United’s Andre Onana.
The Cameroonian is a prime target for the Red Devils and looks set to leave in the summer. He was a regular starter for the Nerazzurri last season, keeping 19 clean sheets in 41 appearances across various competitions. However, with the 27-year-old on the verge of a move to Manchester United, Inter have turned their attention towards Lloris.
The 36-year-old has offers from the Saudi Professional League for a summer switch. However, he is looking forward to taking his time and thinking about his future. However, it remains to be seen if Inter’s offer will interest the former France captain.
Aside from Lloris, Yann Sommer is another option on the Nerazzuri shortlist to replace Onana. Sommer plays for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Onana was a key player for the Inter side that reached the Champions League final last season. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided an update on United’s negotiations with Inter regarding Onana’s move:
“(Manchester) United are now very close to signing Andre Onana. Positive round of talks; final offer arrives soon, then deal finalized. Announced deal will be closed by the end of next week. Personal terms agreed. Man United want Onana to travel On the pre-season tour of the USA.
Manchester United completed a high-profile signing this summer, acquiring Mason Mount from Chelsea in a massive deal to start their moves in the market.
Mount arrived as one of the most technical players in the Premier League. He will wear the iconic number 7 shirt at Old Trafford and has made a promise to the fans, writing on Instagram:
“I know the history and I understand the responsibility that comes with this jersey. The most important thing for me is to gain your trust, and I will work hard to do that. The Reds will not let you down!”
Mason Mount at his best is a world class beater. While he has recently struggled for form, a move to Old Trafford could be the catalyst Mount needs to revamp his career.
