The Ludhiana unit of the Special Anti-Narcotics Task Force (STF) said on Friday that the property of six drug peddlers worth Rs 3.27 crore has been confiscated.
DSP Devinder Chaudhary stated that STF has seized property worth Rs 1.57 crore from Deepak Kumar alias Deepu Kandewala from Guru Arjun Dev Nagar.
Deepak allegedly opened fire on an STF team on Dhandra Road and tried to hit an assistant inspector with his SUV in an escape attempt in April last year. An attempted murder information warrant was registered against him and a drug dealing case was filed against him at STF Mohali Police Station.
DSP stated that Deepak was already facing trial in at least ten cases of drug dealing. Convicted in one case. A Jammu court had also declared him a criminal in a drug-selling case.
STF has seized property worth Rs 39.84 lakh belonging to Pawan Kumar alias Sonu of Mohalla Lagpat Nagar from Godewal.
Moreover, STF has also seized property worth Rs 3.50 lakh from Yadwinder Singh alias Yad of Sugandh Vihar of Phullanwal, Amit Sharma alias Kala of Rishi Nagar of Haibowal (Rs 14.10 lakh), Harsimarjit Singh alias Captain Machhiwara (8.80 lakh) Balwinder Singh aka Bela from Pathankot (Rs. 1.02 Crore).
