Mohan Lal Vishkarma entered the couple’s room while they were sleeping in their home in Chirkheri village in Mangalpur district of Kanpur Dehat and slashed them to death with a wooden stick.
Police said an elderly man and his wife were beaten to death by his 73-year-old brother in the early hours of Sunday morning in Hana village over a property dispute.
Mohan Lal Vishkarma entered the couple’s room while they were sleeping in their house in Chirkheri village in Mangalpur district of Kanpur Dehat and slashed them to death with a wooden stick.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Prakash Vishkarma (70) and his wife Malti (68).
Kanpur Dehat Additional S.P. Rajesh Kumar Pandey, the accused was arrested while on his way to court to turn himself in.
Pandey said that Mohan Lal confessed to his crime during interrogation and said he killed his brother and sister-in-law under the influence of alcohol over an old property dispute.
