Wrestling is always dangerous, as injuries can happen at any time. Now, a former champion was badly injured while competing in events on IMPACT Wrestling’s recent tour of Australia. IMPACT advertises Steve McClain on their website.
IMPACT headed to Australia for the first time for major events recently. They held two shows there and made many other important appearances. NJPW was supposed to tour Australia, but due to talent issues and scheduling difficulties, IMPACT stepped up to take their place.
Unfortunately, while he was there, Steve McClain apparently suffered a serious injury while on tour. Impact Wrestling announce injury but did not reveal any details before saying he would not be able to compete in the upcoming Slammiversary event.
Originally, Maclin was going to team with Bully Ray in a special “grudge” match against Scott D’Amore and PCO at the event.
Santino Marella, IMPACT Authority Director, wished McClain a speedy recovery. He then explained that Bully Ray could choose a tag team partner of his choice. The show’s replacement has yet to be announced but will be opening at the Busted Open on Monday.
It will be interesting to see who the WWE Hall of Famer will choose.
We at Sportskeeda wish Steve McClain a speedy recovery from his injury.
