In a major breakthrough, the Punjab Anti-Gang Squad on Tuesday arrested a key associate of Lawrence Bishnoi gang with a handgun and some live ammunition.
Gaurav Yadav, Director General of Punjab Police, said in a tweet: “In a major breakthrough, AGTF-Punjab has arrested Randhir Singh @CommandoFauji, Chief Assistant to Lawrence Bishnoi Jang.”
He said the accused has a criminal history with a number of cases registered against him in Punjab and Haryana.

“He was separately assigned by his handlers Goldie Brar and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria to inflict damage on specific targets. Furthermore, he was assigned by Bhagwanpuria to help his imprisoned assistant escape from police custody during his court appearance,” the DGP said.
A gun and 10 live rounds were recovered from Randhir Singh, he said, adding that his arrest averted some “sensational crimes” in Punjab and Haryana.
“One pistol with 10 live rounds was recovered from the accused. Commando arrest avoided sensational crimes in Punjab and Haryana. PunjabPoliceInd is committed to eradicating crime as per the vision of CM Bhagwant Man,” Singh said in another tweet.
Bishnoi, 30, is said to be involved in the killing of Punjab singer Saidu Musiwala. Bishnoi is currently being held in Tihar Jail in Delhi. He was accused of a number of crimes, including murder, extortion and arms trafficking.
