When and Where to watch the one-day global event

With the National Championships over, the Diamond League is set to return in mid-July. Heading to Poland, the last stop on the world circuit will be in Silesia.

The event will feature several star-studded line-ups with the likes of Noah Lyles, Fred Curley, Shakari Richardson, Sherika Jackson and Toby Amussan participating in the Silesian Diamond League. Officially called the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, the one-day event will be held on July 16, 2023.

World Champion Fred Curley and Toby Amussan will both be seen competing in their favorite events. With up to five world record holders, the field of event competitors will be as glorious as any.

Apart from Tupi, the Silesian League will feature world record holder Yulimar Rojas (women’s triple jump), Eddie van Niekerk (men’s 400m), Mondo Duplantes (pole vault), and Ryan Kreuzer (shot put).

The current Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen (men’s 1500m), Gianmarco Tampere and Moataz Issa Barshim (men’s high jump), Jasmine Camacho Quinn (women’s 100m hurdles) and Soufiane El Bakkali (men’s 3000m hurdles) will also participate in Silesia.

The Diamond League season, which includes the Silesian League, will be broadcast in many locations via the league’s official YouTube channel.


Matches to look forward to at this event

With so many elite athletes set to compete in this event, there are bound to be fierce showdowns in the various categories.

The women’s 100m hurdles event will see current world champion Toby Amusan take on Olympic champion Camacho Quinn. To add fuel to the fire, Kendra Harrison, the second fastest hurdler in the world, will take her place in the starting lineup.

Sha’Carri Richardson and Shericka Jackson will look the same as each other as Mari Jose Ta Lou aims to cause an upset.

The men’s 100m sprint will also see some sparks, with the likes of Fred Curley, Akane Sembene, Christian Coleman and Marvin Brassey filling the field. The nine men who will compete in this category have all recorded career best times under 10 seconds.
