Elias Diaz burst onto the scene in the MLB All-Star Game, winning Most Valuable Player honors with his home run that netted 10 straight in the National League. It was good all year. The Colorado Rockies didn’t, which is why it wasn’t praised as well as it should be.
ElÃas Diaz accumulated a 0.5 fWAR and hit .277 with a 0.763 OPS. Even though he’s playing in Colorado, he’s been good enough to get attention from teams in need.

The Tampa Bau Rays have a few precious holes on their roster as they were easily the best team in the American League this year. Except that ElÃas Diaz could fill in for one of them. It ranked 21st in Fangraphs’ deep rankings this year, so they might want to address it.
The Cincinnati Reds are ranked 26th on the Fangraphs depth chart for catchers. As they begin to emerge as the only real contender in the NL Central, they need to grab a catcher to fill the hole and solidify themselves as a team to win.
The Houston Astros ranked last in depth catcher VanGraves. The combination of Martin Maldonado and Yeiner Diaz did not inspire the fan base. The Rockies star is more of an offensive player, so he’ll need to play alongside defensive wizard Maldonado, but the Astros should jump in on this trade.
