A dedicated pediatric arm to provide “comprehensive care” for children was launched at the Apollo Hospitals Group on Wednesday at its main facilities.
Dubbed Apollo Children’s, the rebranded offshoot of one of the nation’s largest private hospital chains will have an extensive network of 40+ hospitals, 900+ dedicated pediatric care beds, and over 400 specialist pediatricians providing services across 25+ specialties in pediatric care, hospital officials said.
The hospital currently has an Apollo Cradle providing special attention to maternal and child care.
Apollo Pediatrics will provide specialized interventions for complex pediatric medical and surgical conditions, including congenital disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, liver and neurodevelopmental disorders, cardiology, nephrology, oncology and liver transplantation.
“Our vision was to provide comprehensive 360-degree care, from the fetal stage to a newborn child to adolescence to their teens up to the age of 18, with all specialists brought together,” said Dr. Anupam Sibal, Director, Medical Group. Director of Apollo Hospitals.
In a recorded message, Chairman Pratap C Reddy said that India is now poised to become a global destination for healthcare and has been dubbed ‘Heal in India’ by the government. “I am proud of, many, many achievements, not only of Apollo. There are a number of good specialties developed in about 300 hospitals across the country, which makes us say, India today is poised to be ahead of many countries in providing comprehensive care and specialized care, In sub-disciplines, in all of these,” he said.
Under the ‘Heal in India’ initiative, the government aims to make the country a global hub for medical and wellness tourism.

It is to provide seamless care that includes physical counseling, diagnosis, treatment, as well as virtual counseling and follow-up.It is not about one or two doctors, but also psychological, nutritional and physiotherapy support, Sibal said.
