Here is how to uninstall League of Legends and Riot Client on Windows PC:

  • Make your way to the Control Panel from the Windows Start menu. If you are having difficulty locating it, you can just type control panel in the Windows search bar.
  • Here you will be prompted to select “Programs and Features”, which will open a list of applications installed on your system.
  • You have to find LoL from the list, select it, and then click Uninstall. This will start a process that automatically removes the game from your computer.

You should use a similar process to remove the Riot client from your system. Remember that doing this will not allow you to access other Riot Games IPs such as Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and Valorant.


Remove leftover and saved League of Legends files from your Windows PC

Even after uninstalling the game, some residual and saved files may remain on your computer. Now if you’re incredibly slanted after your last game against the Yuumi-Aphelios bot lane duo, you’ll want to completely cleanse the MOBA from your system. Here’s how you can do that:

  • Make your way to the directory where the game is installed. This will most likely be in C drive Program Files by default. You can also search for the game’s name in the Windows bar.
  • You need to choose the LoL folder and then Shift + Delete to permanently delete the files.
  • You should now restart your computer to ensure that any temporary files have been deleted.

Uninstall League of Legends on macOS

Here’s how to remove MOBA from your Mac:

  • Navigate to the application folder by pressing Command + Shift + G and typing /Applications/. This will open the directory for you.
  • After you’ve discovered League of Legends, you’ll need to drag the app to the trash can on your dock.
  • Now press Command + Shift + C and then make your way to MacintoshHD / Users / Shared / Riot Games.
  • You will now proceed to remove the Riot Client and all remaining LoL files. You should find the Riot Games folder and then drag it to the Trash folder.
  • Then click on Trash and then select Empty Trash. This option is available in the upper right corner of the page.

What is the size of the League of Legends file?

If you’ve been away from LoL and are looking to reinstall it on your system, you may want to free up some space for it on one of your drives. The size of the game file increases with each patch, and League of Legends is currently 12GB in size.

It’s a very small amount of space that you’ll need to allocate for the game, but it’s recommended that you have at least 20GB of free space where you install it.
