A petition seeking annulment of the tender document for the selection of distributor for the sale of the Punjab State Lottery Scheme has been lodged in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The matter will be brought up for hearing on July 17.

The petitioner Arunjot Singh Sodhi of Mohali, through counsels Vivek K Thakur and Saksham Parmar, claimed in the petition to be aggrieved by the arbitrary, unfair and malicious judgments made by the defendant and incorporated into the tender document issued by the lottery managing director.

In his petition, he further stated that the bid was put forward with an ulterior motive to select and benefit from a particular company and to exclude, for technical reasons, almost all other competent companies even from participating in the said bidding process.

Soudi has thus challenged the vagaries of said Bid Document for being discriminatory, monopolistic and arbitrary and thus in violation of Articles 14 and 19(1)(g) of the Constitution.
