Judge Raja Vijayaraghavan has issued a temporary stay of proceedings in a district court against four employees of Rahul Gandhi in the case which was registered last year.

The Kerala High Court has suspended the trial proceedings in a case against the staff of Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi’s office in Wayanad for allegedly causing damage to a photograph of Mahatma Gandhi kept inside the office.

Judge Raja Vijayaraghavan has issued a temporary stay of proceedings in a district court against four employees of Rahul Gandhi in the case which was registered last year.

In June last year, the student wing of CPI(M) allegedly vandalized the office during a protest after which a case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by a lawyer claiming that Mahatma Gandhi’s image had been damaged by unnamed persons. .

Kerala’s ruling CPI(M) alleged that it was Rahul Gandhi’s personal staff who had damaged Mahatma Gandhi’s image to blame the SFI activists.

The Court also, by order dated July 13, issued a Notice to the Complainant in the case registered in 2022.

The two petitioners claimed to have been added as defendants, and a final report was filed by the police.

Advocate T Asif Ali, who appeared before the petitioners, said none of the witnesses attributed any role to the four employees in damaging the image of Mahatma Gandhi in the office.

The alleged incident was reported when an SFI protest rally against the conference leader turned violent.
