While everyone is talking about Yashasvi Jaiswal’s marathon innings of 171 against West Indies, Indian coach T Dilip highlighted the catch the youngster took to dismiss Wendy’s Alec Athanaz in the second innings.
“The most impressive thing I felt was Yashasvi Jaiswal at short leg. I think there are a few important things to note in that catch. First, he kept himself really low. That’s the first sign of being a good bowler at short leg. I think he’s He did a really good job with it. But what I really liked is when you look at his batting. He scored 171 not out and was in the field for about a day and a half. It’s never easy to come back and then play short leg,” Dilip said.
“Another thing that impressed me was that for a young kid, losing catches at the start when the same batsman was on 0. To refocus and come back and stay alert while making better catches was something that really impressed me,” he added.
