The hunt for big-ticket free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is over. According to multiple sources on Sunday afternoon, Hopkins has agreed to sign with the Tennessee Titans.
After being released by the Arizona Cardinals in May, Hopkins was quickly targeted by the Titans and New England Patriots in free agency. Hopkins only met the Patriots and Titans in person and had contract offers from both teams.
While he remained impatient to sign with a competitor in free agency, he ultimately chose the Titans’ lucrative offer to sign with them.

The Titans will pay Hopkins $26 million over the next two seasons with the potential for him to receive $32 million in incentives. He will earn $12 million in the first year with a chance to earn $15 million.
Many fans took to Hopkins on Twitter to sign with the Titans over rivals like the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. Some have compared the signing to other veterans like Julio Jones, and others who were unsuccessful with the Titans late in their careers:
The Tennesse Titans remained one of the biggest players in DeAndre Hopkins the second he was released.
Last week, on July 13, the odds of signing with Tennessee went from +500 to -300. This was a huge jump in the odds in one day and hinted that it was almost a guarantee that he would sign with Tennessee.
Hopkins will be entering the 11th season of his NFL career, and has slowed production in the past two seasons due to suspensions and injuries.
We’ll see if he can push the Titans to the next level and get the AFC South team back next season.
