The local MeT office issued an orange warning of heavy to very heavy rain for isolated locations in the state on Monday.

A cloudy blast occurred in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh early Monday morning, officials said, killing one man and injuring three others.

The cloudburst occurred around 3:55 a.m. near Kayas village in Kullu, sweeping away vehicles and blocking the road, according to the state emergency response centre.

They stated that the deceased was Badal Sharma, a resident of Chansari village in Kullu, adding that two of the injured were in serious condition.

They added that the local authorities responded immediately to the emergency, and mechanisms were deployed to remove the blockade on the road, which impeded rescue operations.

So far, 118 people have died in rain-related accidents and road accidents in the state since the onset of the monsoon on June 24, according to the state emergency response centre, and the state has suffered losses of Rs 4,415 crore.
