Sitharaman added that Prime Minister Modi’s historic visit opened up new opportunities for cooperation, elevating the bilateral partnership to a higher level

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the US has enhanced the strength and dynamism of the US-India partnership.

Seetharaman met US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on the sidelines of the third G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting on Monday.

Revealing details of their discussion, the minister said their discussions highlight the commitment of both India and the US to actively advance the G20 agenda. Their discussion included addressing critical global issues such as strengthening multilateral development banks, adopting a coordinated climate, harnessing the opportunities offered by crypto assets and public digital infrastructure, and reports.

“With shared democratic values, pluralism and a strong commitment to the rules-based and pluralistic world order, India and the USA are actively engaged in constructive dialogues,” said Sitharaman.

She said that such exchanges are evidence of the promise of developing a strong partnership and harnessing the potential for progress and prosperity.

Sitharaman added that Prime Minister Modi’s historic visit opened up new opportunities for cooperation, elevating the bilateral partnership to a higher level.

The Minister of Finance said that by engaging the expertise and resources of both sides, we are promoting economic growth, innovation and driving sustainable development.

Under India’s G20 Presidency, the 3rd FMCG meeting is being held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on July 17-18.

The meeting is jointly chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das.
