When a champion is injured, unless it is a junior champion who is going to keep him out for a very short time, it is very common for a wrestler to vacate the title. That’s what happened when Josh Alexander got injured earlier this year. However, he did return to IMPACT Slammiversary.

The former champion was injured in March. He had to give up the World Championships because he was going to be out for a while. He had a torn triceps muscle and needed surgery to fix the problem.

This kept him out of action for the next three months. Steve McClain defeated KUSHIDA to win the title, which was then won by Alex Shelley at Against All Odds.

Shelley successfully defended the title against Nick Aldis over the weekend at Slammiversary. He was celebrating his title win when he was interrupted by the returning Josh Alexander.

The latter took the microphone from Shelly and said only two words, “I’m back.”

Whether the wrestler is fully fit is still uncertain, but if not, the method of his return is likely to be different. The superstar is back and ready to do IMPACT again.
