Seema Haider, 30, was interrogated for nearly 8 hours along with her lover, Sachin Mea, 22, and his father in Greater Noida. ATS tried to make her connections with the locals in Pakistan and inquired about her uncle who is in the Pakistani army
Seema Ghulam Haider, who crossed the border illegally from Pakistan to meet her boyfriend, was interrogated by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for about eight hours, along with Sachin Meena and his father, Netrapal Singh.
This comes a day after UP ATS arrested a suspected agent of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) intelligence agency in Lucknow on charges of providing “vital information about defense institutions” to his handlers in the neighboring country.
Hyder was mainly questioned about her relationship with her Indian lover and how she finally managed to reach Noida without a passport.
In its investigation, the ATS attempted to link its links to people in Pakistan. She also tried to inquire about her uncle who is in the Pakistani army on suspicion of an espionage case.
According to UP Police sources, no such role was suspected, however, “it was too early to predict”.
The sources said UP Police will join the points by investigating her phone records. The reports will also be shared with central agencies in case they wish to conduct any joint investigation. The sources added that no clean sheet has been given to her at the moment, and she will be on the radar.
Earlier, a neighborhood court in Gautam Bod Nagar released Haider on conditional bail and asked if she needed to change her place or residence, she should inform the police and the court.
Meanwhile, a little-known fringe group issued a threat that if Seema Haider and her four children were not expelled from the country “within 72 hours,” they would start a protest.
In an alleged video posted on social media on Monday afternoon, a man, who identified himself as the group’s national chief, claimed that “Sima is a spy” and “part of a conspiracy” against the country.
Said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Saad Mia Khan, when asked about the security arrangements for Haider and Meena. PTI that no additional security was provided to the spouses.
“Police were deployed in large numbers to the village where Sachin and Seema are currently living to manage the crowds after the couple’s release from jail on July 8,” said Khan.
Ashok Kumar, DCP (Greater Noida), said there was no law and order issue in the area where the cross-border couple lived. “We are keeping a constant vigil on the situation,” Kumar said. PTI.
Seema Haider, 30, had entered India with her four children from Nepal in May to live with her partner Sachin Mea, 22, in the Rabopura district of Greater Noida. The couple first connected in 2019 about the game PUBG.
On 4 July, she was arrested by the UP Police for entering India illegally and Meena was taken into custody for harboring illegal immigrants. But they were released on bail and were living together in Rabopura district.
