Security has been beefed up outside the residence of BJP MP Brij Bhushan Charan Singh ahead of his appearance at Ross Avenue Court.

The courtroom of Special Deputy Justice Harjeet Singh, Member of Parliament, was filled with lawyers and journalists before Brij Bhushan Charan Singh appeared.

Two layers of security, plainclothes police and paramilitary forces, were posted outside the courtroom.

Delhi Police last month said “no corroborating evidence was found” against outgoing WFI President Brij Bhushan Charan Singh “to indicate that an offense was committed under a section of the POCSO”. The Delhi Police also recommended that the POCSO case before the Patiala House Court be quashed.

The annulment report in the case of a minor has been lodged in the Delhi Patiala House Court. An annulment report is filed in cases where no corroborating evidence is found.

Delhi Police said the request for annulment was based on the statements of the complainant, i.e. the father of the underage victim and the victim herself.

Meanwhile, a team of Delhi Police on the same day also filed an accusation paper in the FIR by wrestlers accusing WFI President Brij Bhushan Charan Singh of sexual harassment by the top wrestlers of the country.

In the FIR registered by the wrestlers, after completion of the investigation, the charge sheet was filed by the Delhi Police for offenses under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force of a woman with intent to offend her modesty), 354A (making colored sexual remarks), 354D (stalking ) of IPC v Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and offenses under Sections 109/354/354A/506 IPC v Accused Ex-WFI Assistant Secretary Vinod Tomar.
