Counseling NEET UG 2023: The Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Tamil Nadu has released the provisional ranking list for MBBS and BDS courses. Candidates can check the list of different categories on the official website- tnmedicalselection.net.
The National Examinations Agency (NTA) announced the 2023 UG results for National Eligibility (NEET) on June 13. In order to be selected into an MBBS or BDS course, eligible candidates must appear in the centralized counseling process, which is conducted by the Medical Consultation Committee (MCC)/Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for undergraduate courses in medicine/dentistry for 15 per cent of the All India quota seats and 85 per cent government quota seats by respective state authorities.
To be eligible for the NEET counseling process, General category candidates need a score in the 50th percentile, while SC/ST/OBC candidates need a score in the 40th percentile. Based on NEET scores, the National Testing Agency prepares a merit list for counseling in percentile 15 percent of the AIQ. As part of its 85 percent state quota counseling, the NTA also provides information about eligible candidates from each state to the relevant authorities.

Tamil Nadu MBBS Admission Process
There are four rounds of counseling—the first round, the second round, the cleansing round, and the stray void round. During the counseling process, candidates will be required to submit their choice of colleges for admission into Tamil Nadu Medical Colleges.
The merit list is prepared based on the choices secured by the candidates. Once the merit list is out, candidates will be scheduled to be counseled accordingly. Candidates have to pay the registration fee of Rs 500 for government quota seats and Rs 1,000 for management quota seats. For government quota seats, they have to pay a security deposit of Rs 30,000 and Rs 1 lakh for management share seats. Once the seats are allocated, the candidates are required to pay the tuition fees and complete other formalities for admission.
