On a day when opposition parties officially announce their ‘India’ alliance for next year’s Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that an alliance based on negativity never works.
“When an alliance is formed due to the coercion of power, and when the alliance is with the intent of corruption, and when the alliance is based on the policy of the ruling family, and when an alliance is formed taking into account class and regionalism, then this alliance is very harmful to the NDA,” Modi said while addressing the leaders of the components of the National Democratic Alliance led by Bharatiya Janata Party at a crucial meeting in Delhi.

38 parties attended the National Democratic Rally meeting in the national capital.
The prime minister assured that the BJP-led NDA would get more than 50 percent of the votes cast in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
“The NDA won about 38 percent of the votes in 2014, and 45 percent in 2019. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA’s vote share will be more than 50 percent because of its hard-working allies,” he said.

When we were in opposition too, we carried out constructive policies and did not indulge in negative policies. We opposed the government and showed their tricks but did not respect the mandate. “To oppose governments, we have never asked for foreign help,” Modi said.
Prime Minister Modi noted at the meeting that the opposition parties underestimate the wisdom of the common people who understand that the opposition parties’ alliance is bound by “selfish gain”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received BJP Chairman JP Nada, Chief Minister of Shiv Sena, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Leader of AIADMK Edabadi K Balaniswamy, Chief Minister of Nagaland Neviu Rio, Former Chief Minister of Bihar and Hindustan Awam Morcha Leader Jeetan.
