Mujahid accused in the case of the fake registration of an ambulance used to transport Mukhtar from Ropar Jail to the court during his stay in Punjab in 2021
Barabanki Police of Uttar Pradesh is set to attach property worth Rs 1.5 crore to Sohaib Mujahid, assistant to Don Mukhtar Ansari.
Mujahid is accused in the case of fake registration of an ambulance used to transport Mukhtar from Ropar Jail to court during his stay in Punjab in 2021.
The action against Mujahid under Gang Act was taken at Kotwali Nagar Police Station.
Police said an investigation against Mujahid found him an active member of the Mukhtar Ansari gang. He has been indulging in criminal activities for the past 12 years.
Police said he acquired immovable property in his hometown of Jamalpur in Mirzapur district.
The total estimated value of the building/property acquired constructed in 2022 on 135.1 sqm of land in Mirzapur is Rs 1.5 crore.
On 2 April 2021, the Barabanki Police filed an FIR against Mokhtar Ansari, Mujahid and others in connection with the fraudulent ambulance registration case.
In this case, Mukhtar Ansari along with his assistants Rajnath Yadav, Shoaib Mujahid, Anand Yadav, Shaheed, Saleem, Alka Rai and Chesh Nath Rai were booked on charges of forgery, criminal conspiracy, intimidation and giving false information to a public official in relation to documents related to the ambulance.
Later, a case of gang law is filed against Ansari and his gangsters.
