Finally, the long-awaited glimpse of Project-K has been released with much fanfare at the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) in the US. Along with showing a glimpse, the makers also announced the final title of the film Kalki 2898AD, replacing the working title of Project K. Actors Prabhas and Kamal Haasan released a teaser at the event titled ‘This is Project K: First Glimpse of India’s Mytho-Sci-fi Epic’. A multilingual science fiction film, Project K is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies.
“When darkness takes over the world, the hero rises,” the video reads. A glimpse of Kalki 2898AD shows a war-torn world in the future, where people seem to be ruled by dark forces and technology, and treated violently and brutally by the oppressors. The video shows the lines, “When darkness takes hold of the world, strength will emerge. The end begins now.” At a glance, Deepika’s character as an army soldier seems caught up in an emotional turmoil, while Prabha’s character is seen as a brave warrior who rises to the occasion to save his world.
Amitabh’s character is also seen in the glimpse as an intense warrior wrapped in bandages. At one point, a character is seen asking, “What is Project K”. One can see the influences of Star Wars and Marvel at a glance.

Project-K Team Was in San Diego the last few days. The actor was the first to hook up with fellow Baahubali co-star Rana Daggubati. Later Kamal Hassan also joined the team and got a warm welcome from the fans.
Who is Kalki?
According to Hindu mythology, Kalki is supposed to be the final incarnation of Vishnu, who has yet to appear. At the end of the current era, which is also called Kalyug or Kali Yuga, when Dharma is completely gone and the world is ruled by oppressors, Kalki will come to earth to end oppression and start a new era.
At Comic-Con, artists dressed as raiders were present in Hall H, where Kalki 2898 AD is revealed. Fans were seen taking pictures with the Raiders, who came with posters of the movie. It read, “Now the end begins.” Vyjayanthi Films shared several photos from SDCC and wrote, “The Raiders are starting to take over Comic-Con. Meet them and raid our world.” A comic teasing the story of Kalki 2898AD was also released at the event. In the sector, while the raiders are torturing an old man who refuses to submit to the torture, Bravas hero comes to his aid.

Actress Deepika Padukone did not attend the event as she is part of the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). The actress joined the guild when she made her English-language film debut as the female lead in XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, which had Vin Diesel in the lead. With the SAG-AFTRA strike underway, the union specified that the actors could not provide promotional or publicity services. That extends to appearances at conventions, such as San Diego Comic Con.
Director Nag Ashwin had earlier said in a statement, “India is home to some of the greatest superheroes ever written. We feel our film is an attempt to bring this out and share it with the world. Comic-Con gives us the perfect stage to present our story to a global audience.”
The first looks of Prabhas and Deepika were revealed a few days ago. The poster met with mixed responses, with many being unhappy with Prabhas’ looks. The film is produced by C Aswani Dutt of Vyjayanthi Films, and it stars actress Disha Patani.
