A pamphlet issued by the Naxals was recovered from the accident site, and the dead villager was accused of being a police informant
A villager was allegedly killed by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district on suspicion of being a police informer on Sunday. The accident happened in Rohtad village in Narayanpur.
The information regarding the murder was initially received by the police at the Chottidunagar Police Station of Narayanpur district. Assistant Inspector of Police Narayanpur Himsagar Sidar said the man was killed by the Naxals on suspicion of being a police informer.
A pamphlet issued by the banned Naxals of Amdai Area Committee of CPI (Maoist) was found near the accident site. In the pamphlet, the deceased Naxal accused Soka Singh of working as a police agent.
The association added, “Information was received in Chhotidungar in Narayanpur district, according to which the Naxals killed a person named Soka Singh Kachalam in Rohtad village late last night. In this regard, the police verified the information, and after verification, it was verified that Sokha Singh Kachalam was killed by the Naxalites after they took him to Rohtad forest late at night.”
According to the official, the post-mortem procedures for the deceased man have been completed and a case has also been registered under various sections of the Weapons Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, against the Naxals at the Chottadunagar Police Station.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two Naxal cadres, including a woman, on Saturday, in connection with a confrontation that took place in Teriya village in Chhattisgarh in 2019 and claimed the lives of six Naks and one civilian.
The arrested suspects were identified as Kandula Sirisha alias Sirisha alias Padmakka and Duddu Prabhakar alias Duddu alias Ajay. The NIA said the accused were working for various front organizations of the Iraqi Communist Party (Maoist) or Naxal.
The duo was arrested on Friday after several investigations. The arrest of these two individuals brought the total number of arrests in the Tria confrontation case to six.
