KABUL (Reuters) – The death toll from overnight floods triggered by heavy rains in central Afghanistan has risen to 26 and more than 40 people are missing, officials said Sunday.
Shafiullah Rahimi, spokesperson for the state’s Ministry of Disaster Management, said 31 people have been killed across the country in the floods since Friday, and property and farmland have been severely damaged.
