An army helicopter crashed after a “hard landing” in a forested area in the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir in Kishtwar district on Thursday after a technical fault.
A relative said on Friday that Babala Anil, the 29-year-old army technician who died in a helicopter crash, had encouraged his wife to become a police officer and thus appeared for the written test.

Anil was a native of Malkapur village in Rajanna Sircilla district of Telangana.
Junti Shankar, uncle of Anil and Sarpanch of Poinapally village said that the slain army personnel had recently come to his hometown and left for service 10 days ago.
Anil encourages his wife Sujania to do government job because she graduated. Encourage her when she wants to appear for a police check. She is awaiting the results,” Shankar told PTI.
Anil joined the army in 2012. His parents and family still live in Malkapur village in the district.
A dark shadow descends upon the village with the news that Anil has died in a helicopter crash. Relatives and friends gathered at Anil’s house and tried to console the bereaved family members. BRS Work Chief and Minister KT Rama Rao expressed sorrow over the death of an Army technician.
KTR said it was so sad to lose a young Joanne in an accident. A statement from the minister’s office said he conveyed his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
Rama Rao assured that the state government will stand by Anil’s family.
Telangana PCC Chairman Revanth Reddy said in a statement that Anil’s death is a great loss for the country.
He said the government should support the late soldier’s family.
Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party President Pandey Sanjay Kumar called on Anil’s family and offered their condolences.
