Crowned king, Charles III crowned Camilla as queen in a historic ceremony
King Charles III was formally crowned in a historic coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey on Saturday. During the two-hour service, the Archbishop of Canterbury laid St. Edward’s Crown on the King’s head, and the congregation chanted “God Save the King”. King Charles III took a solemn oath to rule the people of the United Kingdom with “justice and mercy” and to foster an environment in which people of all faiths and beliefs can live freely. Read more
Manipur violence: death toll exceeds 50; Shops and markets open in Imphal amidst a guarded peace
The death toll in violence-hit Manipur has risen to 54, officials said on Saturday, noting that life has returned to normal in the Imphal Valley with the opening of shops and markets. In a rare incident, a female passenger on an Air India flight was stung by a scorpion. The flight was en route from Nagpur to Mumbai. Air India confirmed the authenticity of the reports and said that the accident occurred on April 23 and the passenger immediately received the necessary medical treatment. She is now out of danger.
