Singrauli SP Yusuf Kreshi told the press that the raids were conducted on the basis of complaints received from various persons. Up to three teams of district police raided six spa centers simultaneously.
“During the raids, the sex rackets that are operated inside these health centers were revealed. More than ten women were rescued, who were detained by the police for further investigations.”
Qureshi added that the owners of two spa centers – ‘Sudhanshu Spa Center’ and ‘777’ have been arrested and detained under the ‘Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act’.
Krishi said women were trafficked from Odisha, Kolkata, Assam and Nagaland. Thirteen women, including minors, were rescued from two spa centers. We are trying to find out the link of trafficking in interdependent girls from other countries. We have learned that there is a strong link involved in the trafficking of girls and the operation of sex rackets here. “The investigation is still ongoing,” he added.
