Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said in Pune on Monday that people who willfully cause trouble will learn a lesson, adding that the state government will reveal those behind the violence in Akola and Ahmednagar.
The police were on the alert, thus avoiding any untoward incident. After we learned that some people were trying to stoke the violence, the police deployment in those areas was intensified, and the matter is now fully under control. We will not allow anyone to stoke violence in Maharashtra. “Those who do this will learn a lesson,” Fadnavis said in Pimpri Chin Chuad, where he has launched development projects.
Fadnavis said the troublemakers would not succeed in their determination. Such actions are somewhat politically motivated and some people, even a few institutions are fueling the fire. “We will expose them soon,” he said.
As for the disqualification of MLAs, Fadnavis said: “The Asse-mbly spokesperson is an expert lawyer and will not be under any pressure. We are sure that his decision on the matter will be fair.”
