Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sokho urged the Center on Saturday to direct the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority to return the Rs 9,242.60 crore deposited into the New Pension Scheme (NPS) by the state government.

The Prime Minister made this request during the 8th meeting of the NITI Aayog Board of Directors held here under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sokho called for canceling the limit on receiving foreign aid for the next three years in the country and sought the intervention of the center to expedite the approval of the proposals submitted to the Department of Economic Affairs, according to a statement issued by the state government. He asked the center to obtain 100 percent central funding for the strategic Bhanupali-Bilaspur-Leh railway and to consider the cost of land acquisition as a contribution from the state.

During the meeting, the Himachal Center also asked for ropeway projects to be included under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadiq Yojna’, besides asking for special financial assistance to complete the construction of medical colleges in the state.

He called on the central government to provide the option of the CAPEX model (capital expenditure) in addition to the operating expenditure (OPEX) model within the framework of the financial assistance provided by the Center for the purchase of electronic buses.

Approving the state government’s vision and initiatives, the Chief Minister said his government is keen on developing Himachal Pradesh into a “green energy state” and added that tourism development is being undertaken under the concept of “Green Himachal” in order to protect and preserve the environment. . Sukhu sought the support of the Center and NITI Aayog to fulfill the government’s dream of making Himachal Pradesh the most developed and prosperous state in the country.
