A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between the Chandigarh Department of Health and the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Mulanpur, Punjab for mutual training of postgraduate students.

As per the agreement, the Chandigarh administration and the Tata Memorial Center — which runs the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Center — will collaborate to train postgraduate students at the hospitals and UT Medical College mutually.

The MoU was exchanged at a meeting between Dr Dharampal, Adviser to Director Chandigarh, Director of Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, and Chandigarh Health Department officials on Tuesday.

The cooperation seeks to facilitate the exchange of experiences and facilities for comprehensive cancer screening, early detection, treatment and awareness of cancer.

The Director of UT Banwari Lal Purohit agreed to sign the MoU and hoped that this initiative would serve various objectives such as providing technical support to Chandigarh health services in improving cancer care services across Chandigarh.
