Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur offers an online master’s degree for professionals interested in the field of cyber security. The course was developed by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. It is taught by professors and researchers at the institution and is designed to be executive-friendly. Applications for the second batch of this course are now open.

- The course is open to working professionals.
- An industry focused curriculum of 12 units with a credit score of 60.
- Students can complete the course between 1-3 years.
- There is no GATE score required for selection.
- Only academic and professional backgrounds are the basis for selection.
- Comprehensive training in cyber security methods and techniques will be provided.
- Modules include cryptography, machine learning, and Internet of Things (IoT) security from nascent to advanced stages.
- The program offers a credit transfer facility whereby 60 credits of higher education at IIT Kanpur can be transferred.
- Participants will also have access to the Placement Cell, Incubation Cell and IIT Kanpur Alumni Network.
- Final exams will be conducted at unit level in major cities in India.
- Holders of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/MCA with at least 55 percent marks can apply.
- A minimum of two years of work experience is required for the application.
- The current employment situation is not a problem.
- Total fees are expected to be Rs 800,000.
