IAS officer Tushar Somera is now the district collector in Bharuch district of Gujarat. He shared his now-viral school report card on Twitter.
tIAS Officer Tushar Somera’s class 10 mark sheet from the 2012 cohort went viral on Twitter due to his low score. He scored 35 in English, 36 in Mathematics, and 38 in Science.
However, this did not prevent him from achieving his goals and becoming an IAS officer. He is now the congregational collector of Bharuch district, Gujarat.
The marksheet was shared by another IAS officer, Awanish Charan, of the Chhattisgarh cadre, and was first published by motivator Shailesh Sagpariya.

Collector Bharuch Tushar Sumera, while sharing the 10th marks paper for his class, wrote that he had only got passing marks in 10th class. He got 35 marks in English, 36 in Mathematics and 38 in Science out of 100. The whole village and his school said he would not do anything (in life).”
The mark sheet has sparked conversation around academics and many students draw inspiration from its design and journey.
Somera claims that for the UPSC survey he prepared him for English and Mathematics through self-study. Reportedly, Somaira graduated in Arts and worked as a school teacher before securing the 342nd rank in India (AIR) in the UPSC Class of 2012.
“Sagpariya knows me and he has been giving my example to students often how through hard work one can overcome limitations. This time he asked me to provide a photo of class 10 mark sheet in which I had the lowest marks in two important subjects.” TOI.
