Australian wicket-keeper Alex Carey took a stunning one-handed goal to dismiss Umesh Yadav in the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) on Day 5, Sunday (June 11). This happened after Yadav outplayed an unplayable Aussie speedster Mitchell Starc.
With separation, Australia reduced India to 220/8 before recording a convincing 209 win in the one-run Test. Curry earlier grabbed trouble to dismiss Ajinkia Rahan and end India’s hope of winning their first ICC title in 10 years. The 31-year-old took four catches for Australia during India’s second innings.
Overall, Curry went up six times in the contest and came back with undefeated scores of 48 and 66, respectively.

Clinical batting performances from Travis Head (163) and Steve Smith (121) helped Australia beat India by 209 runs in the WTA Final. The pair helped Australia put up a huge total of 469 in their first innings after being required to bat first.
For India, Mohamed Siraj shone with the return of the ball with numbers 4/108. Muhammad al-Shami and Chard al-Thakur scream each. In reply, India replied with 296 runs as Australia built a 173-run lead in their first innings. Ajinkia Rahan is the top scorer with a score of 89.
For Australia, captain Pat Cummins took three wickets, while Scott Boland, Cameron Green and Mitchell Stark settled for two each.
Australia then declared on 270/8 to set a huge target of 444 to Team India. Alex Carey leads the list with a score of 66*. Starring for India, Ravindra Jadeja returned with figures of 3/58, while Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav each picked up two wickets.
India’s team then compiled for 234 in their second innings. The highest scorer was Virat Kohli with 49 points.
For Australia, Nathan Lyon shone with the ball, taking four wickets, while Scott Boland took three. Mitchell Stark and Cummins took two and one, respectively.
