Chelsea defender Trevaux Chalobah has admitted a move to Italy is tempting amid speculation he could head to Serie A this summer.

Chalobah had a topsy-turvy season at Stamford Bridge and failed to become a standout starter for the Blues. He made 33 appearances across competitions, helping his team keep nine clean sheets.

Speculation is growing about the England defender’s future despite the 23-year-old still having a five-year contract left. Reports claim that Serie A giants Inter Milan are interested in signing him.

Chalobah opened up about a possible move to Serie A by talking about the prospect of living in the country. He said (via Fabrizio Romano):

“Moving to Italy? We never know what happens, I love Italy – it’s such a beautiful country. But I’m under contract with Chelsea. The level is high in Serie A, they have very good teams and I also like how life is in this country.

Chalobah’s move to Serie A would see him follow in the footsteps of compatriot Fikayo Tomori. The 25-year-old joined AC Milan from Chelsea in 2021 and has become one of the most respected defenders in Italian football.

Inter is looking for a new defender after Milan Skriniar’s highly anticipated move to Paris Saint-Germain. The Slovak is set to join the Parisians as a free agent when his contract expires at the end of this month.

According to Football Insider, Milan are close to signing Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The Rossoneri are long-term fans of the Englishman and are set to make an official move at the appropriate time.

Loftus-Cheek has reportedly been told he could leave by the Blues and Stefano Piolo’s side have already made contact about the move. The 27-year-old has made 33 appearances across competitions this season, providing two assists.

The England midfielder has produced versatility throughout the season, playing as a right midfielder and wing-back. However, the West Londoners are poised to continue a major rebuild under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

It looks increasingly likely that Loftus-Cheek will be part of the first-team players leaving Stamford Bridge this summer. He has been with Chelsea since his younger days but has had loan spells at Crystal Palace and Fulham.

Milan may need to move quickly as there is said to be a lot of interest in the midfielder. He has a year left on his contract and is valued at €25m by Transfermarkt.
