Mumbai Police filed a case against “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” Producer Asit Modi, Chief Operating Officer Sohail Ramani and Executive Producer Jatin Bajaj based on a complaint from one of the serial’s actors.
The first information report (FIR) was registered under sections 354 and 509 (assault or criminal force upon a woman with intent to offend her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). However, the police have not made any arrests yet. The actor had filed a complaint against producer Asit Kumarr Modi and two other crew members last month.
Powai Police has registered the actress’ statement regarding allegations of sexual harassment against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumarr Modi and two other crew members. Mumbai Police earlier said that the police will also summon Asit Kumar Modi soon for his statement. But Asit Modi denied the allegations.
“We will be taking legal action because she is trying to defame both me and the show. Since we terminated her services, she has been making these baseless allegations,” he said in a statement.
Sohail and Jatin also denied the allegations.
In a statement, they said: “She (the actress) regularly misbehaved with the entire team on the show. While off filming, she drove recklessly at a very high speed without caring about the people in her path. She even damaged the property of the set. We had to terminate her contract due to her bad behaviour. and indiscipline during filming. During this incident, Asset J was in the USA. She is now trying to defame us and the show by making baseless allegations. We have already filed a complaint against these baseless allegations to the concerned authorities.”
