Nearly a month after employees of a jewelry store were robbed at gunpoint of jewelry worth Rs 1.2 crore in Panchhil Park, south Delhi, Delhi police have arrested four men in connection with the case and recovered 121 diamonds and gold jewellery.
Police said the accused planned the robbery in Bihar and then came to Noida where they stayed for 20-22 days. The police added that based on a tip-off, the accused conducted a survey of Karol Bagh and South Delhi every day for three weeks to carry out their plan.
On May 10, a man working as a sales manager for Karol Bagh jewelry store alleged that he and a colleague were held at gunpoint near the Punchchill Bridge by unknown passengers, then snatched their bags and left. The bag contained more than 181 pieces of gold and diamond jewellery.
Police said more than 150 surveillance cameras were checked, a route of 15 to 30 km was mapped and a scooter was confiscated from Vasant Vihar.
