Tommaso Ciampa came back strong to accept The Miz’s open challenge on the final episode of RAW. As The A-Lister claimed he was ready to answer Seth Rollins’ open challenge, he put together one of his own.
The former NXT Champion’s old music hit and he smiled as he walked to the ring. The Miz smiled as well until Ciampa blew him in the face. With Ciampa returning to RAW after a nine-month absence, why did he stop playing?
As his partnership with The Miz was still growing, The Blackheart was forced to undergo hip surgery. Being such an important joint in the body required nearly a year of recovery and rehabilitation for Ciampa.
Was taken out of the 2023 WWE Draft but is now back on RAW? Where will Blackheart go after his triumphant return?
It’s possible that The Miz wouldn’t let this go since the two were aligned before their hip surgery. Whatever happened to Tommaso Ciampa, RAW has brought back another hard worker and potential champion.
Tommaso Ciampa was just starting out in WWE
The former NXT Champion joined the main roster last year after pinning NXT for several years. He remained with the brand until his farewell match against Tony D’Angelo at last year’s Stand & Deliver event.
When he joined the main roster, he allied himself with The Miz. The two targeted Mustafa Ali and other faces of RAW. Tommaso Ciampa also endured what many stars have had to do under Mr. McMahon’s rule – change the name.
Rather than having a full name, he was simply referred to as Ciampa. While he was adjusting to the changes, he suffered an unfortunate hip injury that has kept him on the sidelines since last summer.
Now that he’s back on RAW, he’ll likely start his first feud against The A-Lister. The Miz was really shocked that Ciampa did not give him a warm hug when he got back into the ring.
Once he’s done with the former WWE Champion, anything is possible. He can once again challenge his former enemy Gunther for the Intercontinental Champion. The two competed for the NXT UK Title while both were under the NXT banner.
Another possibility is that he is reuniting with his former friend and enemy, Johnny Gargano. He has a storied history with Gargano and could take on Johnny Wrestling as friend – or as foe. Stay tuned for what’s next for Tommaso Ciampa.
