While working at a Father’s Day game for the Houston Astros last weekend, an employee took off his 2022 World Series ring to wash his hands and got a call for help. He hastened to go help them, forgetting about the ring there in the process. A young fan found it and thought it would be an excellent gift for his father.
When the employee, named Reynaldo Munoz, realized he had lost it, Jani Arredondo, a friend of his daughter’s, posted on Facebook that the ring was missing, saying:
“Today during a Father’s Day game at Minute Maid park my dad took off his ring to wash his hands. He was working and got a call for help and about 20 minutes later realized he was missing… It was Father’s Day ruined. He worked 23 years in MMP and that ring meant a lot to him His. The ring is very unique because it is for each employee. His last name Muñoz is engraved on the side… We hope whoever has it will return it. It is one of his joys from working there for so many years.”

Fortunately, the Astros community has come together and shared it everywhere. When Ray Davalos, whose son Neymar found the ring, saw the post, he knew he had the ring he initially thought was a replica. He said, according to USA Today:
And I’m like, ‘Son, we have to redo this. And he’s like, “Dad, but that was a Father’s Day gift.” And I say, “Yeah, but what would Jesus do?”
The ring was eventually returned to the original owner in a heartbreaking moment.
The Houston Astros are struggling to repeat and win another ring
The Houston Astros came into this season with the best odds of winning the World Series, which means they could be the first team since the turn of the century to repeat as a World Series winner.
