The US Congress address, which is Prime Minister Modi’s second, was delivered after a joint press conference with President Joe Biden at the White House.

“This is not an era of war, but an era of dialogue and diplomacy,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday, as he repeated his famous anti-war message in the US Congress to thunderous applause from US lawmakers.

Last September, Prime Minister Modi told Russian President Vladimir Putin that now is not a time for war, as securing food and fuel are among the major concerns of the world.

The Prime Minister conveyed this message on the sidelines of the regional security bloc summit in Uzbekistan, adding that democracy, diplomacy and dialogue hold the world together.

This is not an age of war. But it is dialogue and diplomacy. “We must all do what we can to stop the bloodshed and human suffering,” Prime Minister Modi told the joint session of the US Congress.

This speech was delivered in the US Congress, the second for Prime Minister Modi, after a joint press conference with President Joe Biden at the White House.

Noting that the US is the oldest and India is the largest democracy, the Prime Minister said, “Our partnership bodes well for the future of democracy.”

Prime Minister Modi said that any hesitation in India-US relations goes back to the past, emphasizing that the two democracies are currently at a critical juncture and he is visiting the country to address the call of the century.

“The frequencies of history are behind us. In his address to the US Congress, Modi said, “When our times stand at a crossroads, I am here to speak on the call to the century.”

“A lot has changed since I came here seven summers ago. But a lot has remained the same, such as our commitment to deepening our friendship between India and the United States.”

Before pressing, the two leaders reviewed the full scope of Indo-US relations and discussed ways to deepen the partnership.
