6-foot Muay Thai phenom Nabil Anane won’t close door on MMA

Nabil Anan would not turn down the opportunity to compete in MMA on the world stage for ONE Championship.

Young Nak Muay makes his promotional bow in the Muay Thai flyweight competition against Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE Friday Fights 22, emanating live from the famous Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 23.

And while he sees himself sticking to the “art of the right ends” for the time being, the Algerian may turn to the all-around discipline because he’s already dipped his toes in it.

Nabil Anan said in an interview with ONE Championship:

“Maybe one day (I’ll fight in MMA). I’ve trained in wrestling and jiu-jitsu many times before. We’ll see.”

The Venum Training Camp product arrives at the Singapore-based organization with a lot of fanfare after climbing to the top of the domestic arena in Thailand.

Under the watchful eyes of ISKA and WBC world champion and head coach Mehdi Zatout, the youngster was developing at a rapid pace.

And taking on a man of Superlek stature, the ONE World Champion, is further proof that he’s ready to take his skills to the next level.

The Nabil Annan fight will be the co-main event of One Friday fights 22Available live and for free on ONE Championship’s official YouTube channel on June 23.

The interim Muay Thai world title will be on the line in the main event in Bangkok. Former rivals Sam-A Jianghadao and Praganchai BK Saenchai will re-manage it to decide the interim king before Joseph Lasiri returns.
