Kentucky star Oscar Chipuis was not drafted Thursday. Former National Player of the Year and five-star recruit struggled with injuries at the end of his freshman year and fell to the recruiting board.
He was often listed as the best prospect available after the completion of the draft. He averaged 16.5 points and 13.7 rebounds per game in 32 games his senior year at Kentucky.

The undefeated college star will now weigh his options as a free agent. He can sign a potential bilateral contract with a team or an Exhibit 10 deal.
Kentucky coach John Calipari has hinted that Chipui is considering multiple offers. Kentucky teammate Jacob Tobin also went undrafted. Tobin recently signed a two-way deal with the New York Knicks, while his brother Obi was on the Knicks roster.
There are no reports on where the shibui could land. He will likely earn a spot on the list with no guarantee wherever he falls. He could play in the Summer League in Las Vegas this off-season.
The two-way deal means he will spend most of his time with the NBA’s G League affiliate. He will have the option to be summoned to the main roster when needed.
Exhibit 10 is a one-year contract at the minimum salary in the NBA. It gives the team the option to convert it into a two-way deal if they decide to do so before the season begins. These contracts usually include a $50,000 bonus if the player is waived.
Chipui began his career at West Virginia and transferred to Kentucky after two years in 2021. The 6′ 9″ Congolese native was named a first-team All-American in 2022 and a second-team selection in 2023. He led his country in rebounding two straight seasons.

He started playing basketball at the age of fourteen. He moved to the United States to play high school basketball a year later.
Tshiebwe has had one of the highest earnings in team sports when it comes to NIL money. He benefited from his name, image and likeness early on.
He reportedly made $2.75 million in the first six months of being nothing. This total included the $500,000 he made during Kentucky’s preseason games in the Bahamas in August 2022.
