KIEV: Russia launched a new barrage of missiles into Ukraine early Saturday morning, causing damage and casualties, according to Ukrainian authorities.
In the city center of Dnipro, “several houses were completely destroyed. A huge crater after the explosion,” Boris Filatov, the mayor of Dnipro, said on Telegram.
Sergei Popko, the head of the Kiev military department, said that air defenses “detected and destroyed more than 20 missiles in the airspace around Kiev”.
He said falling debris started a fire in a 24-story building, injuring at least two.
In the second largest city in the country KharkivThe district governor, Oleg Sinigubov, said a gas pipeline was destroyed, causing a fire, but there were no casualties.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force also reported missiles heading towards the northern regions of Sumy and Poltava.
