A policeman stationed on Juhu beach saved two children from drowning in the sea on Friday night.
According to the police, two children, Sameer Pawar, 10, and Pim Kali, 7, ventured into the sea from the Juhu Koliwada landing point on Juhu Beach. Soon, the two children are trapped in a rising seawater current, leaving them unable to swim.
Police Constable Vishnu Bhaurao Billy of Santacruz Police Station, who was stationed on the beach, spotted the two drowning in the sea. He jumped into the water and pulled them out.
After basic treatment, the children were handed over to their parents by the Santa Cruz Police Station.
Rajendra Kane, Chief Inspector of Police at Santacruz Police Station, said Billy did a brave job, making the police department proud. “We congratulate him on a perfect job,” Ken said.
